As I said, vinyl liner inground swimming pools are the most popular choice when it comes to the Mid-Atlantic region but it's not your only choice. Depending upon where you travel or have lived in the country you will come across what I call regional trends. For example; solid concrete pools a.k.a. gunite or shotcrete are extremely popular in the south, most especially in Florida and Texas. In those particular regions you will hardly ever stumble across a vinyl liner or fiberglass pool. That's not to say you won't but it is a regional trend, therefore less likely. Fiberglass swimming pools have worked their way into our region but have yet to take over as the dominant choice of materials. My experience with fiberglass is just as extensive as that of vinyl liners. I have my opinions for everything which is based on professional experience but when it comes to building your swimming pool I chose to focus on building your pool and not my own.
Because this page is set up for vinyl liner pools I’m not going to go into extensive detail here about other choice materials. You will be able to find that information in up and coming pages and our opinionated blog! If you look to the right you’ll see a box labeled Pool Designs. There you can scroll through over 130 different designs and sizes that are typical to the inground vinyl liner industry. Keep in mind that similar shapes may have different names with the exception of straight wall pools. Rectangles will always be a rectangle but one manufacturers Oasis is another manufacturers Lagoon. Don’t ask me why, I think it’s pretty confusing myself! I provided a snapshot of designs displayed below just in case you don’t want to flip through all of those files.

Every in-ground vinyl liner swimming pool has a wall structure that creates the shape. The wall structure is the beginning of the process and will be one of the determining factors as to how much your swimming pool will cost. Typically in-ground vinyl liner swimming pools have an entry level wall structure made of industrial grade galvanized steel. Steel has built this nation’s bridges and buildings for over 100 years and we have every reason to believe that steel can give you and your family decades of enjoyment! There are some areas within your region that may have high ground water. If for any reason anyone is concerned with a steel product laying in these possible conditions over a period of time then Mid-Atlantic Pools is prepared to offer state of the art polymer products that carry a true lifetime warranty and can be passed onto the next homeowner at no charge. Polymer wall panels are built with a unique deck support system and everything in the Polymer Wall System is guaranteed not to rust, splinter or bubble for the life of the swimming pool.
Most notably; vinyl-liner pools are less labor-intensive then concrete pools to build and maintain. In our region you will also find that they are the least expensive to construct.
